Instructions to get into the Shadow's Kiss Pre-Alpha
System Requirements
You'll need a computer that can run the following:
- OS: Windows 7 64 bit or newer.
- Processor: Intel Core 2 DUO 2.4 GHz / AMD Athlon X2 2.7 GHz.
- Memory: 8 GB RAM.
- Graphics: DirectX10 Compatible ATI Radeon HD 3870 / NVIDIA 8800 GT / Intel HD 3000 Integrated Graphics.
- DirectX: Version 10.
- Network: Broadband Internet connection.
- Storage: 25 GB available space.
Downloading the Shadow's Kiss Installer
Note: If you're running Windows 7 or earlier, there is another step at the bottom.
First of all, go and pull down the installer from:
Run the installer. You will likely have to click "More Info" if you're on Windows 10, and tell it to trust the installer.
Once the installer runs it should give you the option to run the patcher. The build is big (22 gigs and growing), so it will take some time to download.
NOTE: If you have problems with this, right click the executable and "Run as Administrator".
You’ll need a shadowskiss.com account with pre-alpha access to log in.
Troubleshooting
Oh no! What if I got this "Houst_AuthFail"? That's a problem with our installer for Windows 7 and before, and we're working on a fix. Go here to take additional steps to fix that.
Does your patcher sit there and do nothing?
Either find the little wrench in the lower right (pictured above) or make sure that the directory you created does not have an apostrophe. So:
c:\\shadow's kiss\
...is bad but
c:\\shadowskiss\
...is good
Does the patcher not launch the game after patching?
Because of a windows update, the patcher seems to not be able to launch the game. We're going to get an updated patcher in ASAP, but if this happens. just find the:
ShadowsKissClient.exe
...and run it directly.
